Gotham City

Gotham is always known to be 'rotten', as a way of description. The city is always full of crimes and villains as mentioned in comic books. Below are sets of pictures in their depiction of Gotham city.

Gotham, is a TV series which features characters from Dc comics as The Riddler, Penguin and Detective Jim Gordon. A seen through 3 of the pictures above, Gotham city is shown as moody and gloomy. The colours ranges from hues of greys, black and blue. The atmosphere seen is dark, foggy and rainy .
When I look at all 3 pictures, I feel despair, as if the city is fogged up with too much mystery and damage that it cannot be saved or fixed.

Batman Vs Superman is a 2016 movie. Just like Gotham Tv series, their depiction of the city is seen through darkness, with tones of black, grey, blue and white.
Unlike the previous set of images, the 1st picture has a scent of hope in it, probably due to the white city lights...it shows that Gotham is still alive...maybe to show that Batman has given hope to the people of Gotham.

2016 Movie Suicide Squad's depiction of Arkham Asylum which runs in Gotham City. Just like pictures before this, The atmosphere is shown to be in a rainy weather with a Victorian feel through the design of the gates. However, as a contradiction to the old feeling I get from this, the huge lights gives me a sense of relief...probably due to how there's a working security system that keeps Gotham a bit safer from the insane criminals that have always been known to escape the facility.

Batman: Arkham Asylum is a video game set in Gotham. Seen in the visuals, there's still the gloomy atmosphere..though with the presence of  a tinge of green in the air. This faded green gives it a rotten feel..

A design created showing Batman facing the landscape of Gotham city. This image makes me feel burdened and hopeful at the same time.
I feel hopeful as there's the bat signal in the skyline, which allows the Gotham Citizens to feel safe, knowing that Batman is out there, keeping them safe
.....however, the longer I look at it, I feel burdened. This is probably due to my understanding that the whole Gotham is looking up to Batman to save them all, especially through the way it is being presented....the tiny figure of Batman contradicting to the hulking and towering skyline of buildings...

Through all the depictions of Gotham City, It sets a dark and mysterious mood, with arrays of dark colours and even light ones such as white. There's a sense of gloom mixed with hope...which is an interesting element to look at. These colours, tones, mood and concept could be of possible use in my trend forecasting.
